Compartment Tests

AIR_CUSH:

Here, a "box" supported on an air cushion is analyzed. The box is divided into 100 cells and each one is pressurized. By changing the parameters, one can also get the response of the box without an air cushion.

AIR_PUMP:

Here, a compartment is attached to a compressor and pumped with air with the vent valve closed and flood valve open. A time domain simulation shows the vessel rising as the compartment is deballasted.

BARRY:

This is a test to show the hydrostatics of an air cushion supported vessel.

CMP_STRU:

This is a test to show the difference in a structural analysis due to filling a compartment "CORRECTLY" and "APPROXIMATELY".

CMPTST:

Several of the static flooding options of the &COMPARTMENT command are tested in this file.

DH_CHECK:

This test checks the computation of the design head for compartments.

FSCTEST:

This test checks the some of the compartment commands. It also checks the reporting near the minimum set with the compartment defition.

FLOAT:

A time domain simulation in this test illustrates a compartment being deballasted using internal pressure only.

FILL_TYP:

This test checks the different ways to fill compartments.

GM:

A test to establish that the "Simple" method of ballasting works properly.

HSTAT:

A test to establish that standard hydrostatics works properly in conjunction with compartments.

INTP:

A test to establish that the "OPEN_VALVE" command works correctly with internal pressure.

J_SPAR:

This test checks structural results with compartments using various styles of ballasting and internal pressure.

MEDIT:

This test verify that one can define compartments within MEDIT.

MSH_MAP:

This test verify that the command M_PAN_FIX works correctly.

PMOVE:

A variety of port, starboard and symmetric compartments are tested here, attached to a part that has been moved.

RC:

This tests that the compartment cannot be ballasted below what is specified with the -minimu option.

S_SPAR:

This is a test of a structural analysis of a SPAR, without internal compartments.

SINK:

Time domain flooding of a compartment is illustrated in this test. These files are further discussed as part of the workbook A Gentle Introduction to MOSES.

SLOSH:

A test to establish that the "-CORRECT" option works correctly.

TTANK:

This is a test of a "Correct" TUBTANK as it enters the water in various ways.

VENTED:

This is a test of the head and flow rate for a vented compartment.

VENT_FLD:

This is a test of the -DOWN flooding type for compartments.

WATER_PU:

This is a test of the -PUMP option for compartments.

Y_BOX:

This is a test of free surface correction for tanks filled with things of different densities.
